No End in Sight: Biometrics Litigation Trends

As the use of biometrics has increased, so has the number of related lawsuits - more than 1,000 class action lawsuits have been filed under Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act since 2019. In this guest article, Buckley attorneys discuss recent biometrics litigation and enforcement activity, including the lawsuits against Big Tech and other industries, how defenses against BIPA claims have held up before the Illinois Supreme Court and what is on the horizon.
