The race to regulate AI is heating up, with Congress the latest entrant. Two weeks ago, a U.S. Senate staff director urged industry to provide input on an AI law this fall, before 2023. Concerns about the transformational technology remain non-partisan, opening a path past gridlock. This update provides insights on the latest movements in the federal, state and global drive to comprehensively regulate AI use, including five developments in October, with recommendations on how companies can prepare during this current period of uncertainty from AI policy experts at Uber, the Senate, Cozen Strategies and Future of Privacy Forum.
