NYC AI Audit Law: What Five Companies Published – and How Others Avoid It

Two months after New York City’s pioneering AI audit law went in force, very few companies have published the required bias audit, according to several lawyers and auditors. Their tips and our own searches uncovered five employers’ audits of their AI use for hiring and other employment decisions. This article, the first in a two-part series about this leading AI regulation, breaks down the divergent approaches of these five landmark audits and explains interpretations companies may be using to avoid publishing one.
